EMT I/C Course

January 20, 21 and 22nd

16 students Max

This course is being taught under Santa Fe Community College.

There will be a online component  prior to the course for this 48+ hour course will satisfy the NM State JOE regulation on didactic education, an additional 80 hours of internship is required to actually gain your I/C Certificate and become an EMT instructor.

This is the last class available before you will need a Associates or Bachlors Degree to teach but those completing this course will be grandfathered in.

Although passing this class will give you state recognition as a instructor, you will still need to align and be hired by a education agency.  Multiple agencies-school alignments are also possible.  The state recognized agencies available are Santa Fe Community, UNM, CNM, ENMU-R and Las Cruces.

The course cost is being covered by me, students will not be charged including outside McKinley County FD individuals as the course is a set course fee.  This said, McKinley County area students will have preference over non-McKinley County students on slots available.

I do however expect that all students, regardless of service affiliation; will help with county courses, and perform their internship in the current EMT-Basic Course in Pueblo Pintado, and/or FR course at the FMO or Intermediate Course in April/May.

Pre-Requisite is EMT-I or greater in licensure; a nice background in CEU education or assisting EMT classes  is preferable.

Max of 16 students, textbook may have to be covered under your organization.
