THE PINEDALE FIRE DISTRICT #19
Pinedale fire district was established on February 29, 1996 with 15 members. Currently there is no formal fire station however the district had a 1992 Ford F700 with a 1000 GPM pump and foam system transferred from the Bureau of Indian Affairs to their custody which the BIA took away from the district later because of policy. Currently Pinedale F.D. is awaiting the transfer of Thoreau FD's rescue to them, for rescue and fire suppression. Prior to the formation of the Pinedale District, White cliffs Fire Department would respond to that area at a distance of about 20 miles. White cliffs Fire Department is actively sponsoring the Pinedale District by providing fire equipment, communication equipment and guidance. The Pinedale district's members appear very dedicated in that they travel to either White cliffs or Crownpoint's station to receive additional training at their own expense.
I must apologize in that I do not know very much about the district's history, however I will get more information as soon as possible and "the pictures". I also do not personally know the administration .
